Note to Self {week 3}

This week, I am coming to you as a tired and slightly stressed momma. I’ve had some awesome events this week (like visits with not 1 but 2 sweet wonderful friends that I haven’t seen in months! And snow!!), and some not awesome moments (unmet expectations, frustration, and lots of lost patience). But, through it all, God is good and wants me to find my strength in Him and not in myself. A good lesson for me to learn and remember! Here are a few other things I am going to remember from this week…

-There is just about nothing like time away with a good friend. It is refreshing, and oh so good for the soul!

-Friends that can pick up right where you left off no matter the time or distance between are worth their weight in gold!

-Enduring a traffic jam without kids is infinitely less terrible than enduring a traffic jam with kids.

-Forget using peanut butter to get gum out of your girl’s hair. Use olive oil!! Super easy, in light of the sticky situation. 😉

-I’m still as giddy and excited waiting for snow as I was as a kid!

-I’m not as excited to stay out in the beautiful cold stuff all day as I was as a kid! Brrr!!

-I have huge respect for people in the north with kids who have to deal with getting them bundled up for the snow more than just once or twice a year. That mess takes like an hour! And, causes a HUGE mess after! Gracious!

Me and my sweet 3 out in the snow! They LOVED playing in it!

-Multiple Etsy orders are so incredibly wonderful (and I’m oh so thankful for them), but they can produce stress related dreams (like the one I had the other night about a tidal wave crashing down. I had tidal wave recurring dreams in college from all the stress. They are CRAZY!)

-You cannot do it all. I repeat, you cannot do it all. Don’t think that you can, but work hard to the best of your ability, and make the best use of your time.

-About a 1/4 a cup of flour can produce a lot of fun for kids. Good, messy, “time for you to eat a bowl of cereal in peace” fun!

-You’re kids are fun, precious, gifts from God. Even when they whine, complain, don’t move as fast as I want them to, or disobey, they are still ABSOLUTELY precious gifts from God. (Treat them as so momma!)

-God’s mercies are new to you every single morning. Breathe that in deeply every day, and believe it!

(This came from a super cute Etsy shop! Check it out here!)

I’m working on the Valentine’s Day posts and getting my little giveaway in order to share with you! I’m super excited, and I’ll get them up as soon as I can. But, remember that multiple Etsy order stress, and the fact that I can’t do it all? Yeah, in light of all that, it’ll probably be Monday before you see anymore posts!
