Note to Self {week 4}

First of all, I hate that I didn’t get the next post up in my Valentine’s Day gift series yesterday. It just didn’t happen. But, I think I will be able to share it tomorrow. And, it’s a really cool idea. One that could easily be used to spring board to something different. One that I may update and give to my man this year! ๐Ÿ™‚ So, make sure you keep up with the blog so that you won’t miss it! (You can hit the “follow” button and not miss a post! Sweet!)

But now it’s that time of week to share the good and bad of what I’ve learned. So join me as I share with you my “Note to Self.”

-If you have a kid who likes to bite and chew everything, giving him or her a glow in the dark bracelet is NOT a good idea. It will get chewed. It will leak out. It will leave a kid screaming and crying when the glow juice gets in their eye. Just say no to glow bracelets for biters.

-If you have 2 kids that stand up to pee (well one that stands up and one that will one day stand up to pee and is attempting to stand up to pee on occasion), there is a chance that your third kid will attempt to stand up to pee, even though she is a girl.

-If the thought, “Oh, it’s only 12:30 am! That’s not too late at all,” crosses your mind, you are definitely staying up way too late!

-If the Vicks Vapor Rub is anywhere within grasp of a toddler, that mess will end up in in his hair, and on his clothes, and on the mirror, and on the counter….

-Even after washing out the Vicks hair, that mess will still be in your kids hair.

20140206-232437.jpg It actually doesn’t look all that bad!

-The song “Happy” by Pharrell is impossible not to dance to. Listen to it if you need to get happy!

-The prayers your kids pray are precious and so pure! Encourage them in this!

-Even when you don’t deserve it, God can overwhelm you with sweet unexpected blessings to remind you that He loves us, Oh how He loves us!

how he loves us

-When you are trying to finish up projects and meet self imposed deadlines, there is a good chance that your kids will not want to cooperate with your plan. It can be frustrating, but putting your plans aside to rock the one who is screaming and remind him of your love for him is a good idea. Stepping away from the work to sit with the one who can’t sleep (even at 10:15 at night!) is a good decision. Thankful for God’s wisdom and the Spirit’s help when I need it!

We definitely had some crazy moments this week, but once again, we got through it! What notes are you leaving yourself this week??

Before I sign off today, I get the pleasure to announce the winner for my first ever giveaway on my little blog! I am happy to announce that the winner is….

  1. Thank you so much!!! So excited! I have the perfect place for it. ๐Ÿ™‚
    I’ve often wondered what would happen if those glow sticks were to burst. Thankfully, my kids are (mostly) past that stage.
